Does Derma Roller hurt?
A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to your treatment to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take up to 1 hour for the topical anaesthetic to work.
What areas can be treated?
Derma Roller is used to treat the face and neck, the décolletage and the backs of the hands.
How long is each treatment?
Depending on the area chosen the treatment is relatively quick, taking approximately 45 minutes.
How many treatments are typically needed?
The Derma Roller treatment consists of a series of 3 Derma Roller procedures, usually carried out at six weeks intervals.
What will I look like immediately after the treatment?
Immediately after your Derma Roller treatment you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside within 2 hours and recede to only a slight redness the following day. Eli will advise you on a simple but effective aftercare programme to help speed up recovery.
Can I wear makeup after the treatment?
We advise that make up is not applied for 24 hours after the procedure.
What aftercare is advised?
Eli will advise you on what to do following your treatment. Aloe Vera gel will be applied after the procedure to help soothe and calm the skin. Use tepid water to cleanse the face until the redness has gone, and dry gently. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area. We advise that make up is not applied for 24 hours after the procedure and SPF50 sunscreen is recommended following the treatment.
How long before I see results?
It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
How long will the results last?
The results from a Derma Roller treatment are permanent. As it is a repair of the skin it does not revert after a given time period. Derma Roller for fine lines and wrinkles will improve the skin; however it will not stop skin ageing and new lines from forming.
What type of results will I see?
Following treatment, your skin should be visibly regenerated appearing more radiant and refreshed. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
Can you treat Asian / Afro Caribbean skin / dark skin?
Derma Roller Therapy is suitable for darker skins and during the summer months, when other treatments become more risky, due to the increased UV sensitivity they can induce.
